Gluek Golden Pilsner, and "American Continental Lager" demonstrated the dominant beer style that originated over one hundred fifty years ago in the city of Plzen being located in Bohemia in the present-day Czech Republic.

Bohemia an agrarian region of Central Europe, blessed with excellent water producing the finest barley and wheat around.

Another national treasure grown dating back to 859AD, was their Zatec Red (SAAZ) Hops. So highly valued was this hops that is was a crime punishable by death if anyone was caught exporting their national treasure.

With excellent water and the finest grains there still was something left to be desired in this beer.

In 1840 the townspeople of Plzen decided to make a better beer by building a new brewery. The contribution of a traveling monk baring the gift of "smuggled" Bavarian Lager Yeast completed the ingredients needed to make the famous world renowned Pilsner beer style we know today.

Gluek Golden Pilsner with its rich golden hue and fine lacing has a clean palate in which the basic ingredients of malt and hops are blended with the finest lager yeast resulting in a smooth and mellow character. Its clean, simple flavor is an ideal accompaniment with any type of food.
